Our History
Our house was originally the residence for the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, until they disaffiliated in the 1960s. After this, it became the Prospect of Whitby, named for a historic bar in London dating back to the 16th century. It was known as a hub for conversation and ideas, as well as a haven for those traveling and visiting.
Our House
We have 19 residents and are open to undergraduate and graduate students, although we are made up of mostly undergrads.
The house has 7 singles and 6 doubles. Each room has a bed, closet, desk, chair, and dresser at the minimum. Room selection happens every semester and depends on an individual's duration of residence and house participation. |
Our Process
Our house is university-owned and student-run meaning we have no live-in staff. Each house member contributes 1 hour a week doing a chore and 3 hours cooking. To create a strong community, we also have monthly house meetings and twice a semester house deep cleans. |
Our Leadership
